Small Businesses You Can Start With Less Than N50,000 In Nigeria And Make Profit..... PART 1

Starting a Small Business in Nigeria has never been easy considering what you would have to go through to raise Business Capital towards setting up and running a Profitable Business. Basically, it’s all about money money money! No Bank in Nigeria is willing to help small scale businesses, and Government seems to have no plan whatsoever for the citizens who needs business start up capital.
In case you are thinking of any business to start, you are on your own if you don’t have enough money to finance it. The worst part of it all is that most potential profitable small businesses in Nigeria needs much amount of money to get it started —most times, far much beyond what average Nigerian small business aspirants can afford. Have you ever had a business idea — so bright that it was just a matter of get it started and the money starts rolling in, only to see the idea die because no money to kick start the business? That’s what 70 percent of Nigeria Entrepreneurs experience on regular basis.
Many a times, the little money you possess cannot be enough to start anything reasonable no matter how hard you tried. Because of these, many people are finding it difficult to figure out any small business in Nigeria they can start with small amount of money and still make reasonable profit.I have taken the burdens off your shoulder by taking time to come up with small businesses that promises good profits.
Below are some of the best small businesses in that any intending Entrepreneur can start with N50,000 or less in Nigeria and make substantial profit with it.
1. Beading and wire work jewelry designing-This business requires less than N50,000 to start. All you need is to purchase your basic instruments of pliers, bead, fishing lines and wire with about N10,000.You will need to go for your basic training which is about N10,000 and start learning. You will make your money even from the period of training.
2. Chips Making – Walk around the street and you will observe different brands of Plantain chips on sale and they all sell very fast. People just like chewing stuffs and there is no end to it, so if you can engage in the business of producing and supplying it, you will be making good money on daily basis. All what you needed are: Big Frying Pan (N3,000) Small Sealing Machine (N15,000) The Nylons and Labels (N2,000) Other Utensils (N5,000) The rest N30,000 goes into buying of Plantains and logistics. Supply to the shops and to hawkers and you will be making your money.Become a registered member of mobile cooperative society to access your daily payment.
3. Sales of Tokunbo Shoes – I like quality leather materials and that’s why until recently, all my shoes and bags are bought from the used shoes and bag sellers. I used to get some top class shoes for N3,000 by the roadside back in those days when I can’t really afford high quality designer shoes that cost N50,000 or more. Many people out there are just like me — Instead of patronizing those fake China shoes and bags, they prefer to buy high quality fairly used ones which last longer and confer you with more respect. Get a nice place where you will be displaying your goods like in front on shopping malls. Go to Fairly used market (Katangowa or Aswani in Lagos) you may go to Seme Border or Kotonou. Select quality fairly used shoes, look for designs that are close to the latest fashion. N40,000 can get you up to 40 pairs of shoes. Sometimes you make profit of up to N3,000 from a single sell.
4. Used Books – These are common by the roadsides and you may be wondering if the seller are making money from it.Try it and see! You will be surprised at the profit margin, and you will be amazed at the rate at which Nigerians buy different books. Follow the same process as it is with the used shoes but you buy at different markets. Used books are sold in importers warehouses, locate one and go there to select nice used books, Children books, Professional books, Hand craft books, etc etc. These types of books sells very fast with high profit margin. N50,000 is more than enough for a starter.

Pour the palm kernel oil into the mixture and add the colorant while stirring vigorously (only in clockwise direction) till it blends well.

HOW I MAKE #200,000 MONTHLY FROM POPCORN AS A STUDENT

This is a testimony of how popcorn business can  bring in #200,000 into your pocket  monthly with a capital of #25,000.

I meet this student of Lautech   (Wale) who makes noting less down #200,000 monthly from selling popcorn.

He said: - I started with #25,000 about 6 month ago after attending a seminar on entrepreneurship.

I bought a used (in good condition) machine from a woman at the rate of #18,000 ,I spent #4000 on getting the raw material(corn, butter ,sugar ,nylon etc.)

I never had enough money to get a generator so I went to make a deal with the owner of one computer business center close to the school entrance gate at ADENIKE area of lautech.

I put my machine at a corner at the front of the shop and also connected my machine to their power source

The aroma that comes from the corn always invite me customers as they walk in and out of the school.

I seal noting less than 150 packs daily at #50 per each.

                       Calculation

In a day……….150 packs * #50   =   #7000
Production cost……..#2000
Profit daily……#7000 - #2000 =   #5000
Profit in a week …….#5000 * 6days  = #25,000
In a month………#25,000 * 4 weeks =  #100,000

As at now I employ people and I have 2 other post with pull in noting less than #60,000 monthly
#60,000   *  2 =    #120,000
Total profit    =   #120,000 + #100,000 = #220,000

As u can see that this student (Wale) even makes  more than 220k monthly from selling  popcorn with a very little capital of less than #25,000 he started with.

My fellow Nigerian popcorn business is real and profitable.
Note pls  I am not advertising any product but if this student can active this with 25k imaging how much u can make.

If you can get machines and put it at different evens (wedding, church, etc) on Saturday imagine how much u will get

This business do not require advert because as u produce fresh it will always attract its customer who can buy more than 5packs at once.

How to Make ₦500,000 Monthly From POPCORN Business in Nigeria

Popcorn business in Nigeria is one of the very lucrative business you can start with little amount of money and make it big with proper planning and good marketing.

Very few people knows how profitable this business is, and they are happy to keep it secret from you while they make all the money. But gone are the days of secrecy — I’m going to break it down here, show you how you can get started in simple easy steps, and get your questions answered through the comment.

The type of popcorn I’m talking about isn’t the regular [one spot sale] popcorn you see all over the streets — take a stroll around the major roads in Lagos, you will see the type of popcorn packages that is sold on the roads at the hold-ups. It is usually sold for N100 and people are buying it in hundreds of thousands everyday, it’s almost selling faster than pure water maybe due to the convenient packaging.

The popcorn you see on the streets are not made by the sellers, people process them in quantity and supply to them while they sell and make profit. Pick one of them and you will see the addresses and phone numbers of the maker, that’s the business I’m talking about! You can start processing popcorn in large quantity and be supplying to the retailers (hawkers and supermarkets) in the city.

One thing that make the business attractive is because the materials involved in the production are not costly, anyone can afford them with little efforts. The product sells fast too because people just enjoy eating popcorn for many reasons.

Popcorn is one my favorite snack likewise it is to many people. We likes it due to The crispy effect in the mouth, the nutritional value, and children likes it a lot so parents buy it for their children.

Again, the profit potential is quite good and if you can take it to the next level, you will be assured of making even much more sales and profit.

If you produce 10,000 monthly and sell to the retailers at the price of (maybe) N70, the retailers will sell for N100 and make profit of N30 each.

The cost of producing a pack is not more that N40 therefore you will be making profit of N30 each as well. With this projection, 10,000 packs will give you 10,000 x N30 = N300,000 of pure profit in a month!

I’ve gone round and discovered that most people who are into this business are doing it the wrong or old way. In this article, I will try to explain what you need to do to get yours right and make all the money for yourselves.

If you can apply my strategy, I guarantee you will make more sells that anyone in the business. If you’re ready, here are the requirements you need to put in place to be in Popcorn business.

Popcorn Machine – Known as popcorn maker. You will need bigger popcorn machine since you will be producing in larger quantity. Look for nice one in the market and buy two or more depending on how many hands you need in the business. I will encourage you to employ hands in this business for effective production and distribution.

Get the type of popcorn frying machine that is normally used by the eateries. Go for the type that produce salt and sugar popcorn at the same time; ET-POP6A-D or Funpop 8 oz, it is sold from N62,000. It’s bigger and process faster that the regular one.

If your area doesn’t have electricity, buy the type of popcorn maker that uses gas cylinder and electricity so that you can switch to both power sources. Prices for popcorn maker starts from N20,000. Go to the seller and negotiate the price.

If you have enough money, you can go for commercial type like the one pictured here. One of this will be able to pop all the corn you want in a day.

Sealing Machine – Manual sealing machine cost N10,000 to N15,000 in the market, find out what the exact prices are and negotiate with the seller. Buy according to the number of workers you have — more hands, more machine, and more productions.

The manual sealing machine is powered by electricity while you control the sealing manually. You just position the pop corn filled nylon on the machine and pressed the ‘handle like’ controller on the nylon edge and it will be sealed by the hot rim. You will get better information on how to operate it from the accompanying literature!

Branded Nylon – The is where the big deal is. To stay ahead of competitors in this business, your strongest selling point should be your brand. Make sure your package nylon is well branded. It’s not enough to just write your business name and phone number on the nylon, create attractive brand for your business.

Take a clue from the eateries and see how their packages are professionally branded with good and quality designed pictures and graphics, complete with professional logo. That’s what sells in business — all popcorn are the same but your brand could make yours different in the eyes of consumers.

It doesn’t cost much to get a professional branding for your business, employ a professional graphic designers to do it for you. Then use the design for all your nylons and other items like the popcorn wrappers if you are using wrapping papers.

Bags of Corn – Your major raw material in this business is corn. Buy enough bags of corn depending on the quantity you wants to produce. You can get as many bags of corn as you want in Mile-12 market in Lagos.

For corn to pop, There should be certain amount of moisture within the corn, so that when heated makes it pop from the inside out, when a corn don’t get popped from inside out, it’s called a dud, which means there was not enough moisture in that corn. Look for sweet corn that contain enough moisture.

Sugar, Salt, Butter – You need sugar and salt and butter to make your popcorn taste great. These one are difficult to get, go to any shop near you and buy as much as you need.

Note: You need to get additional training on how to mix the sugar, butter, and salt and the desired quantity. You will also need to learn how to pop the corn.

Marketing Tips – Target the street hawkers, they sell the product faster and in large quantity. If you can get 10 hawkers, you will be sure of supplying them about 500 daily — that is a whooping 13,000 monthly.

Talk to Supermarkets and shop owners, you will be surprised of the positive response you will get if your branding is attractive enough.
